Winter
Winter in the Lac La Ronge provincial park offers a whole new world of breathtaking scenery, great for photographers, as well as many opportunities for fun and recreation.
Snowmobiling
For those with a machine, the north opens up in winter to allow travel almost anywhere. Breathtakingly beautiful and challenging trips may be taken on the frozen lakes and portages.
An active snowmobile club is working on developing groomed trails to Wapawekka Lake and on to the Candle Lake area, which will link up to a network of trails in southern Saskatchewan. There are also plans to link up to Northern Manitoba and northern Alberta.
Cross-Country Skiing
The most developed of our winter sports is cross-country skiing. The Nut Point trail offers 5 kms of present classic and skating trails, lit for skiing into the evening. For the more ambitious, the network of Don Allen trails at Nemeiben has something to challenge skiers of all abilities. In total, we have more than 60 kms of groomed trails, rating from beginner to expert.
